About Pilates-Based Physical Therapy (PBPT)

Pilates-Based Physical Therapy (PBPT) at Pilates & Beyond PT is an approach to healing grounded in the moving body. We assess and treat the whole person - not just an injury or symptom - through Pilates exercises and traditional physical therapy methods. At Pilates & Beyond, we focus on identifying and correcting problematic postural and movement impairments that are likely contributing to your symptoms. We believe that you can feel better when you move better.

PBPT Benefits

PBPT encourages you to take an active role in your recovery. You will be asked to learn and engage in new ways of moving, listening to your body, and taking care of yourself. As an active participant, your benefits will be maximized and your healing time shortened. As you learn to listen to your body more attentively, future injury can also be prevented. We will teach you the skills you need to maintain your gains once treatment has ended. If you are interested, we can also help you incorporate Pilates classes and/or individualized Pilates lessons into your everyday, post-treatment life.

The PBPT Advantage

  • You will always be seen by one primary therapist for the full course of your treatment.
  • Each session you will spend the entire allotted time with your therapist, one-on-one.
  • Most therapeutic exercises are performed on our Pilates equipment.
  • Our rehabilitation exercise programs are individualized to your specific needs.
  • You will become an active participant in your care.

Insurance Coverage

At Pilates & Beyond Physical Therapy we are currently in the credentialing process for the major health plans, and at this time we are considered in-network providers for the following plans:

  • Anthem (BCBS)
  • Blue Shield of CA
  • TriCare/TriWest

Even though we are considered an “out-of-network” provider for the other insurance plans (i.e. Cigna, Aetna, etc.), it does not mean you cannot choose us for your current Physical Therapy needs. Contact us today and we will verify your insurance coverage, determine any out-of-pocket costs, and bill your insurance carrier. Most Physical Therapy Clinics won’t do this. However, we believe in taking the extra steps needed to ensure you, the patient, receive the best care possible.
